W.H.E.E.’s child/teacher ratio is 8/1, with 16 children and two co-teachers
in each of our three spacious, sunny classrooms.
The World of W.H.E.E. is filled with art created by our students, child-sized
playhouses, reading centers and libraries, blocks, manipulatives,
creativity/art centers, tactile tables, and everything necessary to create a
fun learning environment.
In addition, W.H.E.E. has a state of the art playground. In 2002, the
parents, grandparents, alumni, and prospective parents of W.H.E.E.
came together and raised the funds needed to completely replace
the old playground. In addition to the standard swings, jungle gym,
and climbing structure, a perennial favorite is the tire swing and huge
sandbox. A sidewalk for riding tricycles or tractors surrounds the
playground. Playground time is a hands down favorite for our
students and we are pleased to offer them a variety of safe, fun
outdoor options. Each class session includes 30 minutes on the
playground to promote large motor skill development.
